Floods in Syria’s Raqqa kill seven, destroy bridge

Rainwater has flooded several villages and towns in Raqqa countryside, killing civilians and destroying a bridge, local social media reported on Saturday (March 28).

Raqqa countryside witnessed on Friday night a rainstorm which killed at least seven civilians and destroyed a bridge near al-Sharidah village in Raqqa eastern countryside due to the torrential rains and floods that formed as a result of the rains that the province witnessed, Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently reported.

Torrential rains and floods swept some of the cars and forced thousands of people to evacuate after their homes were severely damaged. 

Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently posted a video, showing the damage caused by the torrential rains and floods in Ratla village.

The inhabitants appealed to humanitarian organizations, NGOs, and INGOs to help them find solutions.
