Turkey downs 3 Assad jets, hits airports
Three Assad regime Su-24 jets were downed on Sunday (March 1) in Idlib province, Orient correspondent reported. 

One Assad SU-24 warplane was downed in Jabal al-Zawiya in Idlib countryside.

Turkish Defense Ministry said that two air defense systems, including one which earlier downed a Turkish drone, were destroyed. 

One more Assad regime fighter jet was downed by Turkey later on Sunday, Assad regime’s SANA said.

According to the new footage shared by Turkey's National Defense Ministry, tanks, armored personnel vehicles and anti-tanks, as well as regime militiamen were killed in Saraqib.

Meanwhile, it was reported that the regime's air bases outside the villages of Kweiris, Neirab and Menagh were also targeted by the Turkish military. Anadolu Agency (AA) said that following the Turkish military offensive, the air base in Neirab was rendered unusable.

Last month, opposition fighters downed three Assad regime helicopters and two Russian reconnaissance drones above Aleppo countryside and Idlib countryside.

At least 34 Turkish soldiers were killed and several more injured in an airstrike by Assad regime warplanes in Idlib late Thursday. Following the attack, Turkey launched Operation Spring Shield to put an end to regime massacres and to prevent radicalization and migration, according to Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar.
