Explosions take place in Deir ez-Zoor's Bukamal
A series of explosions took place in Deir ez-Zoor's Bukamal city near the Syrian-Iraqi border, targeting Iranian militias' positions, Orient learnt from local sources.

Five explosions took place on Wednesday (December 25) night in the Kornish, al-Katef, and al-Wowwiya neighbourhoods, killing a number of Iranian militiamen, according to the Euphrates Ein Facebook page.

Asharq Al-Awsat paper said five blasts ripped through the city of Bukamal, targeting the 47 Brigade, killing at least five Iranian militiamen.

Earlier on Wednesday, the IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi warned that Israel was preparing for a limited confrontation with the Iranian regime to act against Iranian entrenchment in Syria.

“We will not allow Iran to entrench itself in Syria, or in Iraq,” Kochavi said, publicly acknowledging for the first time the Israel Air Force has attacked against Iranian targets in Iraq.

Bukamal is controlled by Iranian and Assad militias, there are also locations controlled by Hezbollah terrorist militiamen.

US-led coalition bombed the city driving out ISIS terrorists from it to be replaced by Iranian and pro-Iranian militias.
