US troops convoy crosses into Qamishli through Assad checkpoint

"The US troops and vehicles are crossing into Himo base in Qamishili. This is the first convoy of its kind that crosses into Qamishili after the US troops withdrew from the city," RT correspondent said.    

"This is one of the Syrian (Assad) army checkpoints near the Syria-Turkey border," the correspondent confirmed.   

A large billboard of Bashar Assad was seen at the location where armed Assad militiamen were standing and watching the vehicles and facilitating their passage.

The US military pullback from the Kobani area in northeastern Syria near Turkey's border should take "another week or so" to complete, Defense Secretary Mark Esper said on Wednesday (November 13), as the US military repositions and reduces its forces in Syria.
