Syrians in Deir ez-Zoor protest against Assad regime
Hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets on Friday (October 18) in Deir ez-Zoor countryside, chanting anti-Assad militias slogans under the slogan “Deir ez-Zoor rejects Assad”, local media reported.

The protests took place after Friday prayers for the fifth consecutive week in several Deir ez-Zoor countryside’s villages and towns, including al-Maizlia, Al-Shhahil, al-Shaitat and Izba, Euphrates Post and Deir ez-Zoor 24 reported.

The demonstrators demanded the expulsion of the Assad and Iranian militiamen from their villages and towns east of the Euphrates.

They also expressed their rejection of Assad regime and Iranian regime’s militias attempt to control or enter their villages and towns in Deir ez-Zoor countryside.

Last month, at least two civilians were shot dead in Deir ez-Zoor countryside as Assad militiamen clamped down on a peaceful demonstration.
