Five killed as car bomb rips through Syria’s Afrin

An explosion ripped through Aleppo countryside on Tuesday (September 24) killing and injuring civilians, Orient correspondent said.

A car bomb exploded in a crowded street in Jindires town in Afrin city, killing at least five civilians and injuring others.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.

Earlier this month, a car bomb exploded in a crowded area in Afrin city, injuring at least 25 civilians, including children.

In July, an explosion was caused by a car bomb killed at least 13 people and injured others in Afrin city.

Afrin is controlled by the Free Syrian Army backed by the Turkish Military, it was captured from the PKK-affiliated YPG militia after launching the Operation Olive Branch.
