Syrians take to streets in anti-Assad demonstrations
Dozens of thousands of Syrians took to the streets on Friday (August 30) in the northwest of the country to protest against the Assad and Russian bombing campaign of killing, Orient News correspondent said.

Russian warplanes are targetting the high way of Khan al-Subel-Maaret al-Numan and all ways which lead to Idlib the city to prevent Syrian protesters from taking part in the planned Friday demonstrations which call on halting the killing campaign on Idlib and its countryside.

Bab al-Hawa crossing in Sarama was repeatedly targetted by the Assad jets, Jamil al-Hasen said.

Political, civilian and revolutionary groups in Idlib call the masses of the Syrian revolution to gather in the Freedom Square to show the continuity of the Syrian revolution and their commitment to the UN political solution, one of the leaflets sent to Orient read.

"Assad displacement will never kill our revolution," another leaflet read from the city of Mara' in Aleppo northern countryside.

That counterterrorism can’t put three million civilians at risk. They have the right of protection under the International human rights and humanitarian law. The actions of killing and displacing them must stop now. The situation in Idlib needs a predominately political solution,” Special Envoy of Secretary-General for Syria Geir Pederson said.
