200 Syrians detained in SDF-controlled areas for forced conscription
The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has detained approximately 200 male locals, during raids launched in the Hasaka province of Syria between Friday and Sunday, locals sources confirmed.

The raids are said to be in line with the SDF policy of the forced conscription which is rejected by locals in Deir ez-Zoor, Hasaka and Raqqa.

Hundreds of Syrian demonstrators took to the streets earlier this month in Deir ez-Zoor countryside, chanting anti-Assad and anti-SDF slogans and calling to topple the Assad regime.

Also earlier this month, peaceful demonstrators hit the streets in Al-Shuhayl town in the SDF-controlled Deir ez-Zoor countryside against the rise in the fuel prices and the supply of fuel to the Assad regime.

The SDF announced on March 23 that they took control over the village of Baghouz, the last area held by ISIS. They captured Raqqa in 2017. The group has controlled Hasaka since the beginning of the Syrian revolution with insignificant presence of Assad regime in security squares in the mainly Kurdish city.
