Explosion injures 13 in France's Lyon
French police were hunting a suspected suitcase bomber on Friday after an explosion in the central city of Lyon that injured 13 people, officials said. Pascale Davies reports.

Police in France's second biggest city, Lyon, are on the hunt for a suitcase bomber after an explosion rocked the city centre on Friday (24 May).

13 people have been injured, according to officials. No fatalities have been reported.

The suspect was captured on security video leaving a case in front of the Brioche Dorée bakery.

The blast went off at around 5.30pm local time and rained metal bolts on passersby, police sources told Reuters.

President Emmanuel Macron described the incident as an "attack" and said his thoughts were with the injured.
