Assad militia commits massacre in Idlib’s Khan Sheikhoun
Assad militiamen shelled on Tuesday (April 23) the demilitarized zone (DMZ) of Idlib countryside, killing eight civilians and injuring others and causing material damage, Orient correspondent said.

Assad militias shelled on Tuesday evening more than 65 artillery shells and rockets on civilian homes in Khan Sheikhoun town, killing seven civilians, including two woman and four children and injuring 12 others, including children.

Meanwhile, Assad artillery shells and rockets targeted civilian homes in several cities, towns and villages in Idlib and Hama countryside, killing at least a civilian and injuring other civilians, including White Helmets volunteers and causing material damage.

Several families have recently started to come back to Khan Sheikhoun, knowing that 95% of the civilians have left Khan Sheikhoun town towards nearby opposition held areas in northern Syria, and towards the towns and camps near the Syrian-Turkish borders to escape the heavy shelling.

In February, Assad brutal shelling on the town has killed more than 50 civilians, mostly women and children, wounded dozens, and destroyed civilian homes and properties.

On the fourth of April 2017, Assad regime launched a chemical weapons attack on Khan Sheikhoun town south of Idlib, killing at least 100 civilians and wounding about 500 others.

Idlib is the largest part of Syria controlled by anti-Assad regime factions with a population swollen by the regime and its allies' advances in other parts of the country.
