Infant dies in Rukban camp

An infant died on Thursday (March 28) in the al-Rukban camp on the Syrian-Jordanian border due to the lack of health care, baby formula and medical supplies, local social media and activists reported.

The two-month-old boy, Abdul Raouf al-Turfa, died after his health deteriorated due to the severe lack of health care, baby formula and medical supplies in the camp, Euphrates Post reported.

Earlier this month, two infants died in the al-Rukban camp after their health deteriorated due to lack of medicine and delayed treatment in the UNICEF medical clinic.

At least 12 other children have died this winter in Rukban camp, according to UNICEF statement issued last month.
