Former opposition leader survives assassination attempt in Daraa countryside

Unidentified men opened fire with medium and light weapons on Mahmoud al-Bardan, Abu Morshed in Tafas town in Daraa countryside, killing one of his companions and injuring another.

Al-Bardan has survived an earlier assassination attempt. All accusing fingers point to Assad regime.

Yesterday, unidentified men assassinated an Assad militiaman in his car on the road linking Tafas town and Daraa city.

Last month, the Popular Resistance in Daraa assassinated the lieutenant colonel Nedal Khouja and his companions, and vowed to conduct more attacks.
