An eight-storey apartment building collapsed in Turkey's Istanbul on Wednesday, leaving three dead and twelve others trapped under the rubble.
The twelve were rescued with injuries, the Istanbul governor's office said in a brief statement.
Binali Yildirim, speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, went to the scene in the Kartal District on the Asian side of the city.
The authorities have reportedly imposed a ban on live broadcast from the scene, while an investigation was launched into the incident.
A total of 43 people lived in the fallen building, according to the Hurriyet.
Some residents reportedly said they heard an explosion before the collapse.
