Cold weather kills newborn girl in Idlib countryside
An infant died on Thursday (Dec. 27) in a camp in Idlib countryside due to the cold weather and the lack of heating supplies, Orient correspondent said.

The newborn girl died hours after her birth due to the lack of heating materials in a camp near Hizano village in Idlib countryside, Orient correspondent added.

On Wednesday, Idlib countryside and Aleppo countryside witnessed a rain storm during night hours which damaged dozens of the scattered camps in northern Syria, especially IDPs’ camps in Atma, Qah, and Kherbet Eljoz  near the Syrian-Turkish borders.

Torrential rain, and floods swept some of the camps and displaced its residents after their tents were destroyed.

Earlier this month, a four-month old infant died after her health deteriorated due to the lack of medicine and the lack of doctors in al-Rukban camp.

Last month, a newborn baby also died immediately after his birth in al-Rukban camp because his mother was not allowed to be transferred to Jordan to give birth although she needed caesarean section delivery.

The IDPs appealed to humanitarian organizations, NGOs, and INGOs to help them find solutions and alternatives to their random camps.
