The internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the al-Rukban camp demonstrated on Wednesday (Oct. 10), Orient news’ Ibrahim Hariri reported.
Five hundred demonstrators appealed to Jordan, fellow Arab peoples, UNICEF and the whole world for help, saying they are living in dire conditions.
A child raised a placard which read: “Assad prevents food and medicine from reaching Rukban camp.”
Demonstrators asked UN to secure their safe move to northern Syria.
Yesterday, UNICEF urged warring parties in Syria to allow basic health service deliveries to tens of thousands of increasingly desperate Syrians trapped in the camp near the Jordanian border.
On Monday, two infants died after their health deteriorated due to the lack of baby formula and the lack of doctors in the camp.
