Iranian regime and Assad expand defense ties
Iran and Assad regime signed a deal for military cooperation in a meeting between the defense ministers of the two regimes in Damascus, the Tasnim news agency reported on Monday (August 27).

The Defence Minister of the Iranian regime Amir Hatami arrived to Damascus on Sunday for a two-day visit, meeting Bashar al-Assad and military officials.

Iranian militias have backed Assad in mass killing.

US National Security Adviser John Bolton said last week that Iran should remove its militias from Syria.

Iranian officials have said their military presence in Syria is at the invitation of the Assad regime and they have no immediate plans to withdraw.

The Times of Israel said on Monday that most analysts believe even with US and Russian support, forcing Iran out of Syria will be nearly impossible.
