A number of senior Assad officers were killed on Tuesday (July 31) by an ambush near the city of al-Demir in Damascus northern countryside, pro-Assad social media pages said.
The Assad lieutenant-general Nadim Asaad and a number of Assad intelligence officers were killed by an ambush carried out by what they claimed ISIS terrorists near the city of Demir, Assad-affiliated Mesiyaf Facebook page.
Other Assad-affiliated pages published photos of lieutenant colonel Soleiman Ishmael and the Assad major Assem, these two Assad officers were serving in the Air intelligence branch in Damascus.
The Assad regime and its sectarian and Russian allies took control of Damascus countryside’s eastern Ghouta a few months ago after a bombing campaign, killing thousands of locals and displacing dozens of thousands.
