Assad militia uses helicopters near Golan as Israel downed jet Tuesday
The Assad militia significantly decreased the use of fighter jets after the Israel missiles downed an Assad jet on Tuesday (July 24) near the Golan Heights, Orient knew from special sources.

Meanwhile, Reuters witnesses on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights heard explosions and saw plumes of smoke rising from Syrian territory on Tuesday.

Earlier on Tuesday Israel said it shot down a Assad warplane that crossed into the occupied Golan Heights but the Assad militia said the jet was fired on as it took part in sorties against opposition within Syria.

Fighting near the Golan Heights frontier is sensitive to Israel which on Tuesday said it fired Patriot interceptor missiles at an Assad Sukhoi jet that crossed 2 km (1 mile) into Israeli-controlled air space, after first trying to warn it off.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday that the Assad jet was in "gross violation" of a 1974 UN-monitored demilitarization deal on the strategic plateau.
