Opposition fighters, who declared on Thursday (January 11) a counterattack against the Assad regime militias and their allies in Idlib countryside, are still progressing, taking control of new villages and towns near the Abo-Dohoor airbase.
Footage uploaded to the internet purported to show members of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) affiliated group Jaysh al Nasr, taking control of al-Khwein town in the southern countryside of Idlib according to the video’s caption.
The video appears to show fighters engaged in clashes, shooting rifles at targets and aerial footage of trucks in the area.
Idlib countryside is the biggest chunk of Syria still held by opposition fighters, with a population swollen by Syrians who have fled and forcibly displaced following regime’s advances in other parts of the country.
