Assad terrorists and Iran-backed militias continued on Wednesday advancing towards the ISIS-controlled historic city of Palmyra, east of Syria.

The citadel in Palmyra, about a mile away from the town’s famous archaeological site, have seized by Assad terrorists according to Iranian media.

Iranian media also said that Assad terrorists controlled the strategic the al-Tar Mount, the highest top in Antar Mount north of Palmyra, in addition to Dedeman, Samiramis hotels, and buildings of the Establishment of Water Resources, and Electricity Directorate, to the south of the city.

Meanwhile, ISIS’ Amaq agency said that ISIS terrorists have targeted Assad regime-controlled areas in al-Bayyarat al-Sharqiya, west of Palmyra, with mortar and tank shells. Also, ISIS sent two car bombs to Assad-controlled areas, killing and injuring many Assad and Iran-backed terrorists.

ISIS seized Palmyra in December, months after being driven out by Assad terrorists with Russian backing.
