14 ISIS terrorists killed in northern Syria, says Turkish army

4 ISIS terrorists have been killed by Turkish airstrikes and shelling as part of the operation to liberate the northern Syrian town of al-Bab from terrorists, Turkish military said on Wednesday.

The Turkish military shelled a total of 89 identified targets, including shelters, defense positions, command centers, weapons and vehicles used by ISIS terrorists.

Around 21 ISIS targets were hit by Turkish warplanes, destroying 18 buildings used as shelters, two arsenals and one bomb laden vehicle belonging to the terrorist organization.

The Free Syria Army (FSA) fighters is backed by the Turkish army in liberating al-Bab, a strategic city for ISIS, from the terrorist group. Wednesday marks the 183rd day since the city was surrounded in order to be liberated.

Ankara has already vowed that Operation Euphrates Shield will continue in Manbij and Afrin, which are both held by the PKK’s Syrian offshoot, the People’s Protection Units (YPG), after al-Bab is liberated.

Operation Euphrates Shield began in late August to tighten border security, eliminate the terror threat along Turkish borders, and support opposition forces in Syria. The FSA is backed by Turkish artillery and jets as a part of the operation.
