FSA to launch wide-scale offensive to fully control al-Bab

Euphrates Shield forces will start on Monday within the coming hours a wide-scale military operation on ISIS positions in al-Bab in Aleppo eastern countryside to fully control the city.

Commander of the Northern Division, operating under Hawar Kilis Operations Room, Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Men’em said that in the coming few hours, Euphrates Shield forces will start a full-scale storming operation on al-Bab. Operating forces in Aleppo northern countryside had been gathered and full control over the city is expected tomorrow, he added.

After the full control of al-Bab, the next direct target will be Manbij, north east of al-Bab. The aim is to control it and force out the so-called Syria Democratic Forces (SDF) from it. The cities of Tel Rif’at and Deir Jammal, in addition to all the Arab villages which SDF occupied and displaced their populations will be liberated from SDF, Lt. Col. Abdul Men’em also said.

In recent days, the Free Syria Army (FSA) repelled a series of ISIS counterattacks in the surroundings of al-Bab, when ISIS had attacked a temporary military base of Euphrates Shield forces.
