FSA clashes with Assad terrorists, Iran militias near al-Bab
In a first since the launch of the battle to liberate al-Bab from ISIS, clashes broke out on Thursday between opposition fighters on the one side and Assad terrorists and their supporting Iran-backed militias on the other near al-Bab city, east of Aleppo.

The clashes broke out near Om al-Zendein village to the southwest of al-Bab, Orient News correspondent said, adding that the fighting started after Iran-backed militias tried to advance towards the village.

Mustafa Seijari, a commander in opposition fighters’ Liwa al-Motasem, had previously told Orient Net that the Free Syrian Army (FSA) is ready to face Iran-backed militias in case they tried to approach al-Bab. He also said that opposition fighting factions have agreed with Turkey to complete Euphrates Shield’s objectives and create an area that is safe for civilians in northern Syria.

On August 24, the FSA launched Operation Euphrates Shield with military support from Turkey. So far, FSA fighters have liberated dozens of towns and villages in Aleppo countryside.
