Al-Bab: Turkey-backed FSA fighters reinforce positions
Turkey-backed opposition fighters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA), operating under Euphrates Shield Operations Room, have frustrated the scheme of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) to hand over al-Bab city, east of Aleppo, to Assad terrorists, as the former moved the fight to the city.

Mustafa Seijari, a commander in opposition fighters’ Liwa al-Motasem, told Orient Net that after FSA have liberated Mount Aqeel, the National Hospital in al-Bab, the Youth Residences area, the Ring Road, and the western roundabout in the western parts of the city, its fighters have been working to secure their control on their posts and defense positions in those areas aiming to capture the whole city.

FSA factions are conducting sweep operations to cleanse the city from ISIS, as the terrorist organization has been preventing civilians from leaving the city and have been using them as human shields, Seijari pointed out.

The commander in the FSA also said that Euphrates Shield has frustrated ISIS’ scheme in handing the city over to Assad terrorists and their allied, Iran-backed militias. He also stressed that FSA is ready to face Iran-backed militias in case they tried to approach al-Bab, adding that opposition fighting factions have agreed with Turkey to complete Euphrates Shield’s objectives and create an area that is safe for civilians in northern Syria.

On August 24, the Free Syrian Army (FSA) launched Operation Euphrates Shield with military support from Turkey. So far, FSA fighters have liberated dozens of towns and villages in Aleppo countryside.
