FSA kick starts offensive to liberate al-Bab from ISIS
Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters, operating under Euphrates Shield Operations Room, declared Thursday night the launch of a new offensive against ISIS terrorists in al-Bab city northeast of Aleppo.

The Military Council of al-Bab city and its countryside, an FSA council which coordinates military operations of the battle for al-Bab, announced in video footage published on social media "the start of the battle to liberate al-Bab city". The offensive was launched from multiple sides, with air and artillery coverage by the Turkish army.

Hours into the offensive, FSA achieved a new strategic advance in the ISIS-held al-Bab after liberating Mount Aqeel which overlooks the city, Khaled Abo al-Majed, Orient News correspondent reported.

Commander in al-Sham Corps, Major Hisham al-Ahmad confirmed to Orient Net that opposition seized Mount Aqeel which after deadly clashes with ISIS terrorists. Heavy losses were inflicted on the terrorists group, he added.

These developments came only hours after ISIS had withdrawn from al-Awashiyya, its hill, al-Mejbel village and al-Hawara Hill in al-Bab’s southern countryside, allowing Assad terrorists and their allied Iranian militias to ‎take control.
