FSA closes in on ISIS, controls Bza’a city near al-Bab
Fighters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA), operating under Euphrates Shield operations room, entered Saturday afternoon the city of Bza’ah near the ISIS-held city of al-Bab after fierce clashes with ISIS terrorists.

Euphrates Shield forces from the FSA were able to seize half of the city, and waiting to advance to the other, Major Hishal al-Ahmad, the commander in al-Sham Brigade, told Orient Net.

Several hours later, opposition fighters declared their full control over Bza’a.

Conflicting reports prevailed the media on Friday whether or not FSA fighters were able to seize Bza’a. While several media outlets confirmed that the city was liberated from ISIS. A source told Orient Net that it was still under ISIS’ control.

FSA fighters have been pushing ISIS out a number of villages and towns near al-Bab, the biggest bastion of the terror organization in northern Syria.

Located on its eastern side of al-Bab, Bza’ah is strategically important. It is also considered the gateway of Qabaseen town, which ISIS still controls.
