Car bomb explosion in Azaz north of Aleppo
A car bomb explosion rocked Thursday the city of Azaz north of Aleppo near the Turkish border, Orient News correspondent reported.

Initial reports indicated that an old woman and a young man sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A volunteer from the Syrian Civil Defense (SCD) said the car detonated north of Azaz near temporary shelters and tents for internally displaced people (IDP). He added the area is semi-industrial, with many olive oil mills. The volunteer said SCD first responders found remnants of multiple explosive devices that were inside the car used in the attack.

Locals said the car was parked in the area by a man who claimed he needed to get his car repaired. One local said the car exploded 90 minutes after the man left the scene. He also said the man who parked the car looked in his fifties and was wearing casual clothes.

Azaz, located north of Aleppo close to the Turkish border city of Kilis, is controlled by opposition fighters. Recently, the city has received a lot of displaced people from eastern Aleppo.
