Russiain FM says asked Putin to expel 35 US dipliomats
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Friday he will ask President Putin to expel 35 US diplomats and ban US diplomatic staff from using a dacha and a warehouse in Moscow in retaliation to Washington’s sanctions.

"Yesterday US administration without presenting any evidence or proof, announced the new wave of sanctions against the Russian Federation. Among entities sanctioned were the Federal Security Service, a number of other Russian agencies and persons, the sanctions have also affected our diplomats. 35 people working in Washington and San Francisco, 31 in Washington and 4 in San Francisco, have to leave the United States by the end of January 1," Lavrov said in a video posted on the ministry’s website.

"We cannot leave such steps unanswered, reciprocity is a law of diplomacy and international affairs, therefore Russian foreign ministry together with our colleagues from other agencies, proposed the president of the Russian Federation to declare 31 staff members of the US embassy in Moscow and four diplomats from the US Consulate General in St.Petersburg persona non grata. Besides we offered to ban Americans from using their country house in Serebryany Bor and a warehouse on Dorozhnaya street," Lavrov added.

President Barack Obama on Thursday ordered the expulsion of 35 Russian suspected spies and imposed sanctions on two Russian intelligence agencies over their involvement in hacking US political groups in the 2016 presidential election.

Lavrov said Russia would not leave the sanctions unanswered and said that allegations that Russia interfered in US elections were baseless.
