3 main Northern Front opposition factions to merge
Three of the main opposition fighting factions, operating in northern Syria, are preparing to merge in one faction in order to launch a new crucial phase against Assad terrorists and their supporting militias, Orient Net learned from multiple sources.
Ahrar al-Sham Movement, Nour al-Din al-Zinki Movement, and al-Sham Legion are still in the preparation phase to merge into one faction, the sources said, adding that these three factions welcome other factions which would like to joint.
A meeting between the leaders of the said factions led to full agreement on merging into one faction.
The declaration of forming a new big military faction in northern Syria is near after the merger of Ahrar al-Sham, Nour al-Din al-Zenki and al-Sham Legion, a leader close the told Orient Net, on condition of anonymity.
The leader added that negotiations and deliberations between the factions in order to complete the merger are old and new at the same time, considering that the military factions feel the need to unite, especially in the light of the military developments, which emerged in the Syrian arena recently.
The intellectual similarity and the ideological and revolutionary orientation between the three factions have reflected positively on the current deliberations. What is left are some procedures and understandings which precede the official declaration of the merger, the leader added, opening the door to the possibility of other factions joining the new formation.
The northern front is witnessing turmoil as the Free Syrian Army is battling with Syria Democratic Forces, and ISIS, while opposition-held parts of Aleppo under crippling siege laid by Assad terrorists.
