Opposition’s Junda al-Aqsa faction, which has recently swore allegiance to and joined Jabha Fatth al-Sham, released on Tuesday 57 detainees from Ahara al-Sham, as a part of implementing the ceasefire agreement, Orient News correspondent reported.

This step comes after the inter-fighting that took place between Ahrar al-Sham and Junda al-Aqsa this week in Hama and Idlib countryside, which led to deaths from both sides. Jund al-Aqsa killed a leader for Ahrar al-Sham in Hama and captured many fighters from Ahara al-Sham.

Jund al-Aqsa and Ahrar al-Sham have reached an agreement to stop fighting according to a number of conditions, the most important of which are;

- Both sides shall adhere to an immediate ceasefire and all blocked roads shall be opened.

- Detainees, with all their belongings, shall be released within 24 hours. Exceptions are those who claims were made against them of being linked to ISIS. Those shall be referred to the Judicial Committee.

- A judicial committee, which consists of two judges —from each side, in order to consider the submitted claims, including killing claims. On top of these claims is the incident of killing Ahrar al-Sham’s leader in Hama sector, Abu Munir al-Dabbous, by Jund al-Aqsa, and Kafar Sajneh incident.

- Jund al-Aqsa’s allegiance to Fatth al-Sham is considered as dismantling the former and full merger with Fatth al-Sham. This means excluding the formation of the dismantled faction under any new name.

- The situation in Sarmin, in Idlib, shall be back to normal – before the recent issues. Fatth al-Sham shall assume the responsibility for the previously Jund al-Aqsa-run checkpoints, and the other areas will be included in the agreement as well.

Jund al-Aqsa’s opposition faction declared on Sunday swearing allegiance to Jabhat Fatth al-Sham (previously Nusra Front), after recent tensions and clashes with Ahrar al-Sham in Idlib and Hama countryside, which killed a number of fighters from both sides.
