HNC’s Riad Hijab visits Washington next month

Riad Hijab, the general coordinator of the opposition’s High Negotiations Committee (HNC), will visit Washington next month to meet US officials in the White House, Orient Net learnt from special sources.

A number of the HNC members will accompany Dr. Hajib to consider the latest developments of the US-Russia Syria truce deal and its violations.  

Earlier on Monday, Hijab met EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini who assured to him its support to the HNC’s vision of political solution in Syria proposed in London. She also expressed her concern over the deterioration of humanitarian conditions in Syria.

On his side, Hijab assured to Mogherini that no role to Bashar Assad in the Syrian transitional period. He also assured the necessity of taking an action by the international community to stop Assad regime’s policy of displacement and deportation pursued in Damascus countryside and Homs.
