Opposition adhered to ceasefire, Assad regime violated - Turkey

Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday that Assad regime is the side which has violated the truce, while opposition has adhered to the ceasefire deal.

Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlut Cavusoglu, said that during a phone call with his American counterpart, John Kerry.

Answering journalists’ questions about his phone call with Kerry, Cavusoglu said that he discussed with Kerry a number of issues including the recent ceasefire in Syria.

Cavusoglu also said that Kerry hoped that the truce in Syria would be permanent.

It is worthy to mention that the US-Russian brokered truce, which started on Monday, has been violated many times and in many places across Syria by Assad regime. Aerial and artillery shelling were reported on Aleppo, Homs, Hama and Damascus countryside, killing a number of civilians and injuring others.
