Russian soldiers on Castello road to "monitor" ceasefire
Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that it started deploying soldiers in Syria’s Aleppo to erect mobile monitoring points on the Assad regime-held Castello road.

Russian media, in addition to pro-Assad Facebook pages, cited the Russian Ministry of Defense as saying that Russian soldiers are erecting monitoring points on Castello, at the entrance of Aleppo.

The AFP also reported that Moscow deployed soldiers on Castello road, to the north of Aleppo, to monitor the ceasefire.

This comes after a new ceasefire deal, sponsored by the US and Russia, came into effect Monday evening. The deal stipulates 48-hour ceasefire in efforts to return to negotiations regarding the transition period in Syria.

The US-Russian deal stipulated that Castello road should be a demilitarized zone, so that aid could be delivered as quickly as possible.

It is expected for the aid to be allowed in through Castello, which Assad terrorists controlled about 2 months ago, besieging the opposition-held neighborhoods in Aleppo.

Opposition opened a new crossing, al-Ramoseh, after battles with Assad terrorists. The latter, however, were able to recapture al-Ramoseh, laying the siege on Aleppo once more.
