Pro-Assad militia leader killed by opposition in Latakia countryside
Pro-Assad Facebook pages reported on Sunday that the leader of pro-Assad militia Desert Falcons has died during clashes with opposition fighters on the axis of Kabani in Latakia countryside, observers said.

Zakaria Suleiman, chief of Zain al-Abideen group, which is affiliated with Desert Falcons militia, was killed during clashes with opposition fighters in Latakia countryside, according to the pro-Assad Facebook page, Jableh News Network.

The network added that the killed militia leader was from Snobar town in Jableh.

Desert Falcons is a sectarian militia led by Mohammad Jaber. It is one of the strongest pro-regime militias across Syria, as its weapons are provided by Russia.

Earlier today, sectarian pro-Assad militias attacked Kabani and Jabal al-Tuffah in al-Akrad and al-Turkmen Mountains, backed by Russian warplanes which targeted the opposition-held areas with 30 airstrikes and tens of missiles.

Fatth al-Sham operations room declared killing dozens of Assad terrorists and allied sectarian Shiite militias, while the latter were trying to advance on Kabani axis in al-Akrad Mountain.
