Opposition fighters launched on Saturday a major counteroffensive and recaptured al-Hayat Tower and the village of al-Shaherorah in Latakia northern countryside’s al-Turkman Mountain, Orient News correspondent Mohammad al-Ashkar said.

The counteroffensive came after Assad terrorists and their allied Shia mercenaries’ control over those two areas under heavy Russian artillery shelling.

Abo Khaled Ghandoor, a commander in the Opposition First Coastal Division, spoke to Orient News and said that taking control over al-Hayat Tower and the village of al-Shaherorah served as a catalyst for the group’s progress despite Assad terrorists’ heavy shelling on the area.

Ein Issa was the last village captured by opposition fighters who pushed Assad terrorists from it after 12 hours of heavy clashes.

Russian Defense Ministry said that Sergei Shoigu, the Russian Defense Minister met with Russian pilots and visited their quarters at the Hmeimim air-base in the Latakia countryside, amid these military developments.
