It seems that Assad’s leaflets are not less dangerous than his barrel bombs.
Assad either threatens Syrians or drops barrel bombs on them. This is his way of negotiating with Syrians.
Assad has said that he will negotiate with the opposition for one reason only: "to reach a situation where they give up their armaments and either join him or go back to their normal life.”
Assad wants Syrians to restart from scratch and to forget all the massacres and brutal acts he perpetrated. Something that Syrians will never accept.
Assad jets are asking people to come back and one would wonder: come back to where?
These warned Syrians are still in Homs inside Syria, but they are, like other Syrians, insisting on their demands of freedom and ridding the world of the dictator.
In the leaflet, people are asked to kick out foreigners from Homs and to hand over their weapons.
If foreigners are seen as dangerous by Mr Assad, why did he invite Russia, Iran, Hezbollah and their mercenaries into Syria?
The leaflet also says that “peace” is better than “war and destruction”.
If Assad believes in this, why did he do all possible efforts to derail Geneva peace talks and made them end in deadlock?
It is clear that Assad wants a “peace” but his own way.
Peace to Assad means:
*submission
*tolerating living with a dictator
*forgetting about freedom
*shutting up
*abject poverty
Keeping in mind the fact that Assad has said that “Either I rule Syria or I burn it”, no one can expect anything but evil from this dictator.
What is really so ironic is that the Assad leaflet is headed by addressing the besieged Syrians as “Dear Citizens”. How on earth could you cold bloodily kill a “dear” person?!
