Warplanes likely belonging to the US-led coalition bombed Iranian regime-backed militias stationed on the Syrian side of the border with Iraq on the early hours of Thursday (March 12), according to local Syrian media.
The warplanes bombed Hashed factions stationed on the Syrian side of the border with Iraq, Deir ez-Zoor 24 reported and Euphrates Post reported.
Dozens of Iraqi militiamen were killed and injured as explosions shook the al-Bukamal city a Syrian border town with a heavy Hashed presence.
The move came after two American service members and a British national were killed in a rocket attack Wednesday on an Iraqi base.
