The Turkish army destroyed overnight "a chemical warfare facility, located some 13 kilometres south of Aleppo, along with a large number of other regime targets," the senior official told reporters on condition of anonymity.
Following the regime’s attack on Thursday that killed 33 Turkish soldiers northwestern Syria’s Idlib, TSK carried out airstrikes and artillery shelling throughout Friday.
On Friday, Turkey destroyed eight regime's tanks, four armored vehicles, five howitzers and two rocket launchers and neutralized 56 Assad militiamen in Idlib, Turkey's National Defense Ministry said on Twitter.
Late Thursday, at least 33 Turkish soldiers were killed and dozens injured in an airstrike by Assad regime militias in the Idlib de-escalation zone, just across Turkey’s southern border.
Turkish soldiers are working to protect local civilians under a September 2018 deal with Russia where acts of aggression are prohibited in the region.
