Free Syrian Army (FSA) factions launched an operation against Assad militias in Latakia countryside on Friday (November 1), killing and injuring Assad militiamen, Orient correspondent said.

The National Front for Liberation (NFL) said its fighters and other opposition fighters attacked Assad militiamen on Kalaz axis in Latakia countryside, killing several Assad militiamen, including lieutenants and injuring others.

Baren Alhdath Facebook page confirmed the death of 14 Assad militiamen, including a lieutenant and injuring 19 others.

Last week, four Assad tanks and a bulldozer were destroyed by anti-armor missiles on the front of the Kabina in the Akrad Mountain in Latakia northern countryside.

For the second month, Assad helicopters daily drop barrel bombs on the Kabina Hill.

In May, Assad militiamen used the chlorine gas shells in the Kabina Hill after they failed to make any progress on the front.

Assad militias based in al-Turkmen Mountain and the al-Akrad Mountain in Latakia countryside continue to target opposition-controlled areas with heavy artillery and rocket fire.
