Landmine kills civilian in Deir ez-Zoor’s al-Susah

An explosion caused by landmine ripped through Deir ez-Zoor countryside on Friday (October 18), killing a civilian, local media reported.

A landmine exploded in al-Susah town in Deir ez-Zoor countryside, killing Hameed Hammoud al-Fahd, Deir ez-Zoor 24 reported.

Earlier this month, a landmine exploded near al-Omar oil field in Deir ez-Zoor countryside, killing three oil field workers.

Demining former ISIS strongholds continues to be a major challenge in areas liberated from the group.
