Fire destroys Syrian IDPs camp in Aleppo countryside

A fire tore through a camp for Syrian internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Aleppo northern countryside on Monday (September 2), burning thirty tents, injuring four civilians, two of whom are suffering from severe burns and causing asphyxia among several IDPs, Orient correspondent said.

Footage published on social media showed the blaze Flames and thick clouds of black smoke, rising from al-Bal camp near Azaz city.

The footage also showed civilians, trying to extinguish the fire.

Most of the IDPs living at the camp had come were forcibly displaced from Damascus southern countryside.

The fire was mostly caused by an explosion of gas cylinders, local sources said.
