Hezbollah militia claims to strike against Israel after drones
The Iranian regime-backed Hezbollah is preparing a "calculated strike" against Israel in response to two drones that crashed in Beirut at the weekend, two sources close to Hezbollah told Reuters on Tuesday.

A reaction "is being arranged in a way which wouldn't lead to a war that neither Hezbollah nor Israel wants," one of the sources said. "The direction now is for a calculated strike, but how matters develop, that's another thing."

Hezbollah's deputy leader Sheikh Naim Qassem said the militia will retaliate against Israel after two drones crashed in Beirut, but a new war between the two enemies remains unlikely.

"I rule out that the atmosphere is one of war, it is one of a response to an attack," he told Russia's RT Arabic channel in an interview on Tuesday night. "Everything will be decided at its time."

Lebanon's Hezbollah said that two Israeli drones which crashed in Beirut's southern suburbs on Sunday were carrying explosives.

Hezbollah said in a statement late on Monday that experts examined the first drone. The suburbs "were subjected to an attack by rigged drones", with the first one failing to cause a blast and the second exploding, it said.
