Opposition fighters repel Assad progress attempts in Hama countryside
Opposition fighters say they have repelled the Assad militias' attempts to progress in Hama northern countryside, Orient News correspondent says.

The National Front for Liberation, a powerful alliance of opposition fighting groups, said on Thursday (June 20) a group of Assad militiamen was killed and a tank was damaged on the front of Tel Meleh.

Several Assad militiamen, including a lieutenant were also killed when they stepped on landmines in a minefield near Jubbayn village.

Assad warplanes, artillery shells and rockets targeted on Thursday civilian homes in several villages and towns in Hama countryside, including Kafr Zita and al-Lataminah with more than 100 rockets, causing substantial material damage.

"The Plain Conquer," and "Defeating the Enemy" were two battles launched by the opposition fighters in which they took control of Tel Meleh town and other strategic villages in Hama northern countryside.

Assad and Iranian militias and Russian airstrikes continuously target opposition-held areas in Hama countryside, causing civilian causalities.
