Assad-Russian attacks kill civilians in towns of Idlib countryside

Russian warplanes and Assad militiamen are continuing targeting Idlib countryside with barrel bombs and missiles, killing and injuring civilians and causing damage in houses and farmlands, Orient News correspondent said.   

Three civilians were killed in Kafranbel in Idlib southern countryside after the Assad militiamen targetted the city with cluster bombs, Idlib Media Centre reported on Thursday (May 23).

One civilian was also killed in the town of Kafr Owaeid after the Russian warplanes conducted multiple airstrikes on residential areas.   

Assad missile attacks were reported in the town of Kafr Sejneh and Maaret al-Numan, causing material damage without casualties reported.  

Meanwhile, Russian airstrikes hit the outskirts of Taftanaz, the Idlib Media Centre posted photos showing a SU warplane in the sky of the town.

  

Idlib, Hama northern countryside and Aleppo countryside are within the de-escalation deal reached by Russia and Turkey last September.
