Assad militia shells civilian neighbourhoods in southern Idlib (Video)

Assad militiamen, backed by Russian air power, were seen on Saturday (May 11) shelling civilian neighbourhoods near Kafr Nabodeh village in Hama northern countryside, pictures posted by Reuters showed.

The militiamen fired rounds of random mortars in the direction of villages in southern Idlib where dozens of civilians were killed in the last few days.

Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar said on Friday (May 10) regime militias should return to territories agreed in an international deal in Kazakhstan to reduce hostilities and casualties.

Earlier this week, the regime militiamen occupied the town of Qalaat al-Madiq in northwest Syria, some of its residents said on Thursday.

Idlib is the largest part of Syrian controlled by the Assad militias with a population swollen by the regime and its allies' advances in other parts of the country.
