Civilian causalities as Assad regime shells Idlib countryside
The Assad regime’s militias shelled the demilitarized zone (DMZ) of Idlib countryside on Saturday (Feb. 9), killing and injuring civilians, Orient correspondent said.

Assad regime’s artillery and rockets shelled on Saturday noon civilian homes in the eastern neighborhood in Khan Sheikhoun town in Idlib countryside, killing four civilians of the same family (Hamdi Hasan Hamidi, his wife, his son, and his nephew), Orient correspondent added.

Meanwhile, Assad regime’s artillery and rockets shelled Tell Mannas village, injuring a woman and a child.

In April 2018, Assad regime targeted Khan Sheikhoun with toxic sarin, killing at least 100 civilians, mostly women and children.

A de-escalation zone deal on Idlib was reached by the Russian and the Turkish presidents last September to halt the Assad regime and its allies’ attacks on the northern Syrian city and its countryside.
