The US-led coalition targetted on Saturday (February 2) a military position controlled by the Assad militia men in Deir ez-Zoor, injuring a number of the sectarian militias.
The attack was conducted in the Sukariiya neighbourhood in the west of al-Bukama against an artillery gun.
The attack took place at 11.30, injured two militiamen and destroyed the gun.
The city of Bukamal is a location for Iranian regime's sectarian militias; Fatemiyoun Liwa and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corp who tempted Syrian soldiers to join their ranks.
Some soldiers in the Assad army have become more religious after joining Iran-backed Shiite militias. Others have switched to such militias for nonreligious reasons.
Fighters in Iran-backed groups receive better pay and more days off than the Assad army offers, and joining a Shiite militia does not necessarily mean converting to Shiism. But it is a marked shift from the old way.
