Local councils in Aleppo province call for humanitarian corridor
Local councils in Syria called on Friday (Jan. 4) for a humanitarian corridor to be established amid escalating clashes in northern Syria between the National Front for Liberation (NLF) and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

Eight local councils in the towns and villages of Aleppo countryside, including Kafr Hamra, Anadan, Hayyan, and Hreitan said in a joint statement published on social media that the roads reaching Aleppo western countryside were blocked.

The statement added that the links between the villages and cities have been disrupted due to the clashes.

These roads are located within the de-escalation zone agreed by President Erdogan and the Russian president Vladimir Putin in Sochi.

Clashes between HTS and the National Front for Liberation have killed dozens of people, including civilians over four days.
