Syrian Red Crescent evacuates patients from East Ghouta
The Syrian Red Crescent evacuated 5 civilians overnight from Doma city in Eastern Ghouta, following an agreement between Jaysh al-Islam and the Russian side.

Orient News’ correspondent said the Syrian Red Crescent convoy entered Doma city to evacuate the patients for treatment, referring that evacuation was quick and secretive (patients were informed a few hours before evacuation).

Activists said evacuation was most likely reached with Turkish mediation, confirming that the convoy was protected by Jaysh al-Islam rebel faction.

Red Crescent’s branch in Doma told Orient that the agreement includes names of 29 patients, to be evacuated in three days, noting that only humanitarian emergencies were selected such as patients with tumors, cardiovascular diseases, and hemophilia.

In turn, Jaysh al-Islam’s political board said in a statement, "arrangements are commenced to evacuate 29 humanitarian emergencies from Eastern Ghouta," noting that Assad regime finally agreed to evacuate them without any condition.

The Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) also mentioned in social media that several vehicles of the Red Crescent and the international Red Cross arrived Doma city to evacuate 5 patients from besieged Eastern Ghouta to Damascus city.
