ISIS’ media arm, Amaq, published on Wednesday (Oct. 3) footage, showing the two Russian mercenaries captured by the terrorist group a few days ago in Syria.
The mercenaries appeared wearing gray tunics, one wearing handcuffs and the other with what appeared to be bruises on his face.
One of them spoke in Russian, saying his name was Zapalotny Roman, and he was arrested along with his friend, Tsurkanov Gregory, following a counter-offensive conducted by ISIS terrorists in the town of Shula in Deir ez-Zoor western countryside.
Last week ISIS announced the recapture of Shula, Kebab and Hribesh areas in the south of Deir ez-Zoor after Assad and Iranian terrorists claimed occupying those strategic areas. More than 60 Assad terrorists were killed in the counteroffensive despite the heavy Russian airstrikes conducted to facilitate their occupation of those areas.
